Steps to reproduce:
I can't download anything from my web email accounts. Everything works fine in Chrome.
Actual results:
All downloads fail.
Expected results:
Download attempts should notify me to proceed with a pop-up to open or save the file

No, this is not about downloading updates. It is about downloading from email.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue on Firefox 98.0.2 and 98.0.1 versions on Windows 10 x64.
Would it be possible to retest this using Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode and with a new profile?

It's not clear to me how the download is failing.
Are you seeing a warning badge display above the toolbar's download icon? Does the download panel open and report anything when you attempt to download?
If you can provide details on what you're seeing when the download fails this would help us diagnose what the issue is.
To be clear, I was not talking about downloading Firefox itself but downloading attachments from within my email. The errors were being accumulated in the upper right corner. I think the icon was a "!" or something.
I did a Firefox restore and this fixed the issue but also changed other settings, which I am slowly discovering, such as how the dropdown URL box behaves.

tikidice, I'm gonna mark this ticket as resolve because the initial issue no longer persists on your side.
For any other issues that you might notice, could you please submit new specific bugs and provide more clearer steps to reproduce, as a list, step by step?
