I hate having my focus changed for me, but I still want the information. Of course, an easy solution is to use the download manager and leave it in the background for future downloads. It appears the point of this bug is that the reporter doesn't want download operations to take focus away from the browser window, as might happen when the download tracking window opens. This is at least partly a window manager issue. If the download tracking window gains focus, it's because the WM gave it focus, and this could be addressed by reconfiguring or changing window managers. In any event, both firefox and mozilla now support a download manager window that can be left open. Is there still an issue to be addressed here?

As Kenneth said, the download manager can be kept open (in fact that's the only way the suite DM can work). I can't think of a way to display the info in the browser window properly (think multiple downloads), which was the original request. resolving WONTFIX.
