Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021013
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021013
I have been using mozilla for more than a year on my dual head solaris workstation
I downloaded a build from oct 22,2002 and oct 23,2002. Both these builds
exhibited the following problem.
When i start mozilla on the first monitor, everything works fine. I can use both
mail and browser. When i set the display to the other monitor and then start
mozilla, the browser/mail window opens and closes immediately. And it prints
some error detail on the terminal.
When i start mozilla browser i get the following mesages on the terminal when
mozilla dies.
sunhome % mozilla&
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 70 (X_PolyFillRectangle)
Serial number of failed request: 1735
Current serial number in output stream: 1752
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 66 (X_PolySegment)
Serial number of failed request: 1742
Current serial number in output stream: 1753
And whe i try
sunhome % mozilla -Mail&
It fails with the following
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 70 (X_PolyFillRectangle)
Serial number of failed request: 7908
Current serial number in output stream: 7925
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 66 (X_PolySegment)
Serial number of failed request: 7915
Current serial number in output stream: 7926
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set display to the second monitor(eg :- setenv DISPLAY sunhome:0.1)
2. Then start Mozilla
3.
Actual Results:
mozilla window shows up and then mozilla immediately exits.
Expected Results:
worked :) :)
I am running solaris 9 update 2. dual head. One on-board graphic card and the
other Raptor GFX.
The display fails on the Raptor GFX.
It has been working for the past year and a half on both monitors. I update my
build about once every 7-10 days.
I can provide any additional info if required. I will save the mozilla build
with me so i can provide info.
I'm not sure how your dual head factors into it, but the same errors messages
are reported in bug#175755 (and bug#175989), so this is maybe a dupe of one of
them?

I think this bug is different from bug#175755 (and bug#175989) in a way that I
can use Mozilla absolutely fine when i start on one monitor and the Problem
exists only when i start on the second monitor. The machine is the same So is
the Gtk lib(i have gtk-1.2.10), but the problem occurs only on my second
monitor. But as long as the backout of "Enabling GTK native theme support"
eliminates this problem I am ok with closing this as a dup. Is there a build
available with the fix in question backed out???

Srikanth, bug 175755 was resolved fixed last night. Could you try a nightly from
the 25th or later and see if you're still having a problem?

I downloaded the build today (2002102422) and the problem is gone. i am able to
use mozilla successfully on my machine on both montiors. So closing this bug as
dup of 175755. I had no idea that this could be Gtk releated. But on hindsight
, it seems logical. Thanks for quick response. And sorry for filing a duplicate(
i thought i searched really well before filing this bug).
