This should be a user-preference. Heck, all hotkeys and menu items should be user redefinable imo.
Reporter, this is not a bug, it's a request for enhancement. Not that I think it would be an enhancement. I believe this is a WONTFIX.

I made a couple of errors in input and wasn't able to browse through my history to find the pages in question to make the changes, sorry.
I think that the bookmark sidebar will be more frequently used that the bookmark manager. and phoenix != mozilla.
