Search not useful for finding bugs; improve it by adding the same fuzzy search as on the "New Bug" page?

In my workflow finding bugs via the "search bugs" functionality rarely returns the bugs I'm searching for.
When filing a new bug, the search for possible duplicates is way better for me to find bugs. When discussing this with my team members, they have similar problems with the "search bugs" function.

Could the search bugs function be improved by adding the same "fuzzy search" like in the "Possible duplicates" to make the bug search function more useful?
