Steps to reproduce:
I installed the latest update to Firefox
Actual results:
Favicons of bookmarks in bookmark bar folders disappeared
Expected results:
Favicons should have been preserved

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I didn't manage to reproduce this issue when upgrading to Firefox 99.0.1 from Firefox 99.0.
Could you please share more detailed steps on how to reproduce this issue, like was it a new install or just a Firefox update? Also, did you import any bookmarks or did you sync your data and preferences?
I've done multiple installs, both new and updates. Some bookmarks were synced, others were not and I imported those. I installed a favicon grabber app to refresh them all before the last update. Now some of them are gone again. I was going to post a screenshot but I do not see an option for that here.

It looks to me that this is a dupe of bug 428378.
Also please note that for the time being the favicons are not imported from any browser(Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge). Please see bug 1213284.
