These crashes seem to happen on various pieces of Nvidia hardware (most but not of them old) across multiple versions of Mesa, spanning the 20.x and 21.x releases. The crash is caused by an assertion in libdrm so I don't think we can do anything about it. I'm filing it in order to track the volume. If it's a genuine bug in Mesa I expect the volume to go down, but if it goes up we should probably inform upstream.

There is a WIP MR: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/10752

That MR has been merged. Seems like it should be in 22.3

The bug is linked to a topcrash signature, which matches the following criterion:
- Top 5 desktop browser crashes on Linux on release
:bhood, could you consider increasing the severity of this top-crash bug?

That MR mentioned in comment 1 should be in the system by now (as Jeff points out in comment 2). Gabriele, can you test again with Nightly (Fx117)?

I can't reproduce this crash locally but there still appear to be crashes on file with Mesa 23.x and other versions that should contain the fix. Here's an example:

Glenn, per comment 3, please adjust the severity if you think it needs it.

We think the remaining crashes are likely to be a similar but perhaps separate bug. Kelsey is going to open a new bug upstream with details.
