When trying to import large quantity of messages from Outlook Express 6/Win2000 (total > 800MB) the process hangs, trashes all or most imported folders/messages (some messages appeared to be "not read") and spits out the message: "unable to import mailboxes, cannot create proxy object for destination mailboxes" I've noticed that at least one other person refers to the same error message while trying to import from Eudora (http://mail.wlug.org/pipermail/wlug/2002- September/001807.html). Also one other guy (netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news) reports the same problem with 140MB of MSOutlook 2000 mail. This appears to be a value of /messenger/importMsgs.properties ENTITY 2007. HTH. THX.
I'm hitting this issue too. Importing from MSOutlook 2000. I have about 145Mb of mail folders to import. The status bar indicates that about 2/3 of the import has completed then I get the popup reported by the original poster. HTH.
Have been playing around with this and just got my import to work! What may have been affecting me was that I had Outlook folders with the '/' character in the name e.g. the folder or subfolder was called 'Red/ Blue Monkeys'. I've removed the / character and the import worked. I'm not saying that its a resolution to this bug, but its certainly worth trying. Thx, Jon
