User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/100.0.4896.88 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Launched IBM Cognos (latest version.)
Clicked on a report to execute
The report runs fine (either foreground or background)

Actual results:

The tab opened by the report does not close automatically. It works fine for Firefox version 78.0 but not in any subsequent releases
We get the following tab open
http://<cognos-server-name>/c11/cps4/portlets/common/close.html

Expected results:

The tab should have closed automatically after the report execution completes.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

This is causing a rather annoying issue with the users where when they run reports, the tabs will start piling up and they will need to remember to close these tabs. Can this be assigned a fix for the next release?
How does one set severity on a bug ticket? I do not see an option.
Thanks

In my attempt to reproduce your issue, I accessed www.ibm.com, logged in and opened the Content section from the side menu.
Afterwards, I selected the report in question and used the "Run as" option from the Action menu. The report was successfully run in the same tab.
As far as I could tell, this is not related to the Firefox browser and it is the expected behavior in this case. There is no difference when running the reports with other browser.
If the STR are not accurate, please provide more specific steps to reproduce, as a list, step by step.

Closing this as resolved: incomplete due the lack of response from the reporter. Please feel free to reopen the bug if the issue still persists and follow the instructions of writing a new bug.
Thanks.
