(Whiteboard: Awaiting clarification)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:99.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/99.0

Steps to reproduce:

I am very happy with "Multi-account container" and especially with ability to connect different containers to different locations. I switched to Mozilla VPN for it.
But now I have huge dilemma. I got my Deeper connect Pico for DPN. And I very like web 3.0 . But I can't use Multi-account designated VPN with it.
I would understand you keep this feature only for your VPN (though I would be ready to pay that containers could connect to third party vpn) as your business model but now when DPN come it doesn't have sense to me.

I believe this is related to this product: https://shop.deeper.network/products/deeper-connect-pico-wi-fi-adapter

If I understand correctly, this is a request to have the Multi-account containers support this VPN. Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible without a deep integration with the specific software from the vendor.

If I'm misunderstanding, please feel free to reopen or add a comment, petrlozhkin.

Yes. It related to this and some other competitors. DECENTRALIZED PRIVATE NETWORK.
I love your integration of Mozilla VPN with Firefox containers. I understand that you locked it to your VPN.
So far there are no something revolutional that other VPN providers can offer.

Till there are DECENTRALIZED PRIVATE NETWORK. I have the deeper connect but there are others decentralized private network providers.
In DPN all network peers can be VPN providers: dangerous and powerful idea. I use it for some time and I extremely satisfied. For example I edited Wikipedia from IP address of South Africa(do you even know VPN provider who has servers in Africa?) . I tested it on many services which block traditional VPNs (I tested MozillaVPN and ExpressVPN)

So for me, as I can't live without Firefox containers, is very important to prepare changes to be able to use DPN with containers. I just will not be able to use MozillaVPN. It's not competitor to DPNs. Of course if you will not create own DPN then I will be happy to try it out and support it :)

We already have a bug filed upstream for this feature request (See https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/issues/2252) so I'm closing this issue has moved to avoid duplicates on different issue trackers.

Also, as a possible alternative, you can use a different VPN provider/server if it offers an http or socks proxy.
