1.2b was installed over existing working copy of 1.1.  When downloading, comes
up with error that the temp file cannot be created and the download will be
terminated.  Reloading 1.1 did not cure the problem, had to delete all
references to Mozilla in registry and all preference files and subdirectories
and do a completely clean reinstall for 1.1 to work correctly again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install 1.1
2. Install 1.2b over 1.1
3. Attempt a file d/l from any url.

Actual Results:  
I do not have the actual error message written down, as I was more concerned
with getting my browser working again.  However, it gives a reference to the
temporary directory (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Aplication
Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\9gmxnuhq.slt, in this case) and says that the
directory cannot be found.  Note that 9gmxnuhq.slt is the final subdirectory
created by 1.1, it was different for my 1.2b installation.  This MAY be the
problem, that 1.2b does not recognize the settings subdirectory when installed
as an upgrade from 1.1.



Expected Results:  
Opened the download manager OR a progress dialog and downloaded the file.  (I
tried it with both settings...  no luck.)

Mozilla should not be installed over top of a previous installation.

I agree so, installing the new Mozilla without deinstalling the old (the
settings won't get lost!) is very bad and can make many bugs.

Reporter: Installing Mozilla in a clean folder should fix this.

WD, Frank, are you novice screeners?

Yes this bug lacks necessart information (error message), but DL problem wafter
installing 1.2b over previous version is our mostfreq "bug" now, and you should
be able to recognize mostfreqs at first glance...

Yeah, this is a dupe I know...but Invalid or Dupe who cares (in this case)?
