Using 19991028 builds on win98, linux and mac the drop down list for combo boxes in Account Setup|Copies and Folders list the Folders that have sub folders as if they other mail accounts. The mail account is listed first, left justified-bold. Then the default folders are listed indented-not bold. Then the any Folder that contains a sub folder is listed left justified and bold, with the sub folders listed indented-not bold as well as other top level folders (but I can't figure out the logic of the other folders). 1. Launch Messenger (I have an account (qatest04) with the standard default folders plus user defined folder: qatest04, qs05, qa06, abc, bbc, ruready and tuv. These are the sub folders: bbc|subofbbc, qatest04|sub104, qs05|sub105, qa06|sub106. Note: The Folder pane displays the top level default alphabetically, then user defined alphabetically with expand widgets for folder w/sub folders. 2. Select Account Setup from the menu Edit 3. Double-click the account you have sub folders for (I selected qatest04) 4. Select Copies and Folders 5. Select the down arrow for the 1st combo box "Place a copy in" Result: 1. Notice the list-Account and Folders w/sub folders left justified-bold 2. Notice Folders w/o sub folder listed after Folders w/sub folders losing the alphabetical and hierarchical order Using my account here is what I see: qatest04 on nsmail-2 in Bold w/indented list Inbox,Drafts,Templates,Sent,Unsent qatest04 in Bold w/indented list qatest04, sub104, Trash qs05 in Bold w/indented list qs05, sub105 qa06 in Bold w/indented list qa06, wub106, abc bbc=Bold w/indented list bbc, subofbbc, tuv, ruready Expected to see the list displayed the same way it's displayed in the Folder pane.
Note: this was written because bug 15685 (sub folders not listed) was verified and this is different from that one. I couldn't find another bug specifically for this wrong order.

In the current build, the folders are alphabetized, but the special folders aren't sorted to the top. Seth, is this your issue now since you replaced the combo boxes with menus?

now that we're using the menupopup, it looks normal
Using builds 2000101211m13 on win98, 2000011212m13 on linux and 2000011208 on Mac this is fixed because we now using menupopup. However per Phil's comment the special folders are not listed at the top, this is OK for Local Folder, but if you have special folders in your IMAP account ie. Sent, Template, Draft) they are not being recognized as special folders so they are listed alphabetically. I logged a separate bug for the outstanding issue (23848). This is verified
