In the latest review process (bug 1759345) we forgot a few extra keys. We want to have those extra keys reviewed before going live with Mozilla VPN 2.8.2/2.9.
The commit is this: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/mozilla-vpn-client/commit/804068e73512e0afd86f75868f9d4117cf4ae1bb

DATA COLLECTION REVIEW RESPONSE:
Is there or will there be documentation that describes the schema for the ultimate data set available publicly, complete and accurate?
Yes.
Is there a control mechanism that allows the user to turn the data collection on and off?
Yes. This collection is Telemetry so can be controlled through Firefox's Preferences.
If the request is for permanent data collection, is there someone who will monitor the data over time?
Yes, :baku is responsible.
Using the category system of data types on the Mozilla wiki, what collection type of data do the requested measurements fall under?
Category 1, Technical.
Is the data collection request for default-on or default-off?
Default on for all channels.
Does the instrumentation include the addition of any new identifiers?
No.
Is the data collection covered by the existing Firefox privacy notice?
Yes.
Does the data collection use a third-party collection tool?
No.

data-review - part 2
PRELIMINARY NOTES:
The extra keys column should include
The name of the app state, e.g. "authenticating", "device-limit", "main", "subscription-needed", etc. The list can be found in
mozillavpn.h
.
Also, this is definitely an interaction category of data, not just technical. You may wish to update that in the metrics.yaml at some point.

"Yes. This collection is Telemetry so can be controlled through Firefox's Preferences."

Ah, sorry about that. Excess copy-paste in my response. Good catch!
