Details

In mozilla 1.1 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20021013) i go to keyword:localhost if i type in http://localhost:8888 , but :8080, :666 and :80 works just fine.
I tried reproducing this on solaris (using build 2002102022) but my copy parses "localhost:8888/" as "http://...". Mikael, your mozilla build is 12 days old. Could you download a current nightly and see if the behavior is still present? Please report the results by updating this bug. Reassigning to "URL Bar". This might be a dupe of bug 155344, though that bug doesn't say anything about different behavior based on port number.

Yeah, it works now, it turned out the server i run on that port only binds to the external interface, but the newer mozilla gave a better error.
