Hello. Export of bookmarks as HTML file, corrupts the original tree structure.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. From keyboard | ctrl + shift + O ==> Import and backup ==>
    Export bookmarks to HTML;
  2. In resource manager, locate that file then drag and drop it into Firefox's URL field;
  3. Observe the structure created in window.

Observations:
Bookmarks Toolbar which is originally at the top of the tree, is not there.

The html file doesn't follow the same structure as bookmarks in the browser, what matters is the final result when that file is imported. Is importing the file creating a different structure than when it was exported?

"what matters is the final result when that file is imported" | That is the very subject of this very report. At last, importing that file resulting from export, concludes the demonstration of that very corruption.

Preparation of the ground for a better readability of the tree structure

  1. Once the original structure was exported, remove the contents of folders Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar and Other Bookmarks, in order to get an empty tree.
  2. Import the relevant file; from keyboard | ctrl + shift + O ==> Import and backup ==> Import bookmarks to HTML;
  3. Inspect the resulting tree structure. Note: Imported bookmarks show as selected.

Thank you for the clarification, this is a duplicate of our existing bug 1431376.
