• Open address book and reduce width of Thunderbird window to half-screen
• Select contact and scroll contact view to the right end

• Have to scroll horizontally to even see the Edit button, that's inconvenient (note bug 1713876).
• Edit button shows offside to the right, that's odd!

expected

• Edit button should not be offside to the right
• Something more practical and less odd
• Horizontal scrolling is quite impractical and should be avoided as far as possible - maybe we could stack the buttons when toolbar width is too little, allowing for narrow view with vertical scrolling (mouse wheel).
• Allow users to take their own layout width decisions (bug 1713876)
