177082 - Can't save pictures from newsgroups

The news broswer is about 50 percent faster which is outstanding, but when I
open a binaries newsgroup I can't save any binary pictures to my hard drive. 
When I save to the hard drive by right clicking on the image, the correct
windows pop up and it looks like it is about to save the file but nothing
actually gets saved.  If I try to use the menu's and go
File==attachment==save_as then it creates a file, but the file is unreadable. 
Actual error says "can't read file header, unknown file format".  The save as 
feature worked properly in 1.2a

The ability to save binaries to my hard drive is one of the most important
features I need in a newsgroup, and if it is not enabled it would cause me to
abandon mozilla for news and use another reader.

J Wyatt, this could also be bug 145408 (if you instead use the context menus).
