Some address books are not shown after update to beta 102.0b1 from 101.0b4.

Error console shows the address books that are being backed up on startup, and the ones not shown in the error console are also the address books that are not shown in address book tab. For example, address book "moz". But I do not see anything in error console to explain why serveral address books are not being shown.

All address books exist on disk as far as I can tell.

IMO this blocks release of 102 beta, unless we can determine this affects a tiny user population plus we have a likely fix that can be delivered soon.

entries from error console - my earlier statement was incorrect that there were no error entries. However, abook.sqlite is the only file mentioned, and there are several other address books that are not being shown.

files backed up at startup per error console - history, abook, and abook-2,3,4,5,7,10,12,15,16

Ten address books shown in UI.
(roughly) At least five are missing.

I have about 15 address books. About 7 didn't open/don't show.

It looks like the ABs with the biggest file sizes didn't open - 492kb and larger. (I'm not seeing a correlation to number of contacts in an AB - but then I also can't see all my ABs.)

Do you have backup so you can re-do it? And if you do, can you remove some address books first, to see if this is a problem with a specific ab or not.

I also wonder if there's any correlation with mailnews.pop3.jsmodule, true/false and/or the realhostname migration (changing timings??)

I do have a backup. But I don't think any of the address books are corrupted. (Correction - I was wrong about address autocomplete in comment 7. It is working for the address books that are being displayed)

The following changes did not help:

  • safe mode
  • removing ldap server
  • deleting one of the smaller address books

Discovered the missing address books is caused by read-only address book database files
