177305 - PASP POP3 proxy interacts strangely with Mozilla Mail

PASP is a POP3 spam-filtering proxy that works similarly to the "Bayesian"
filtering methods mentioned in bug 163188.  It's written in Python 2.2.  It
seems to work most of the time, but Mozilla's mail client doesn't always talk
with it correctly.

Reproducing issue:
1) Install Mozilla (build 2002101908)
2) Install Python 2.2.2 and PASP
3) Copy <windows_directory>/command/move.exe to <windows_directory>/command/mv.exe
4) Follow instructions in PASP readme.txt to setup email account settings in
Mozilla.  mailhost=localhost and username=loginname:realmailhost
5) Start Mozilla and MailNews component.
6) click "Get Msgs"

Notice that mozilla seems to sit and wait "forever" for a response.

7) click "Get Msgs" again

Mozilla now connects to the PASP proxy, and retrieves messages.

8) Surf other sites for a while, or something.
9) Click "Get msgs" again.

Occasionally, after repeating steps 8 and 9, Mozilla no longer seems to connect
to the POP proxy.

Restarting Mozilla (and MailNews) and clicking "Get Msgs" twice will retrieve
messages again.

Short Bug description: Clicking "Get Msgs" occasionally hangs using POP3 Proxy.

Expected results: Clicking "Get Msgs" once should connect and retrieve new
messages (or report "no new messages on server").

I will attempt to verify this bug in the latest nightly soon.
The developer of PASP has already been notified of this bug.

Also occurs using latest nightly build (2002102814).

Realized I hadn't said that PASP rc1d is what I'm using, and is available at the
URL mentioned in this bug.

This is the shorter version showing the need for multiple clicks on "Get Msgs"
to get it to connect the first time.
