Details
Steps to reproduce:
- Open some tabs
- Wait a while
Actual results:
- Be disappointed as FF loads tab from network
Expected results:
- I would prefer not having to reload tabs, especially as I have enough memory...
- Since about 98 or 99. I'm now using 101.
- I'm not sure if it is a plugin or not... (I expect to hear about this ;)

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Open some tabs -- I recommend about 25 to 50, but for reference I have 300 at minimum. Does this make a difference?

Wait a while -- There is some sort of timeout that I don't know about, apparently. I haven't timed it, I just know that when I switch attention/tasks, the tab I'm looking for is unloaded.

especially as I have enough memory... What makes you think so? -- Isn't 32 RAM enough? Or should I have went for 64? (I was thinking about it...)

Hello! Thank you for submitting this issue, I have managed to reproduce the issue but as far as I know this is an expected behavior for firefox to unload the tabs that are not being used.
Kris could you please provide more info on this issue?

I do believe that this is a good behavior to have (at least in low memory situations -- and it may also contribute to system stability??),
but in my case I don't like it. How do I turn it off?

Hello, this is expected behavior from tab unloader if you are running on low memory. If you would like to turn it off, disable browser.tabs.unloadOnLowMemory. There are currently no active plans to disable tab unloading on Linux.
