Steps to reproduce:

I changed the name of my Windows 10 machine a few days ago.
Today I disconnected Firefox (and Waterfox) from Firefox Sync, and since, the two browsers won't connect, more exactly I can connect to the account, but the sync feature stays disconnected. Watch the attached video for an example of this behavior.

Actual results:

I'm unable to use to Firefox Sync service

Expected results:

I should be able to use it.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Sync' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

We aren't sure what is causing this issue, but Sync does keep some logs which may help us find the problem. Hello I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 103.0a1(2022-06-24) on Ubuntu 22.04 and Windows 10, unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my work station and on my personal computer.
Could you please answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue

  1. Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
  2. Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
  3. Do you have any addons installed if so can you list them?
  4. Could you please answer the question from the comment left by Sammy?
