Would be fitting that it had text zoom and message display and browser has it.

It's a real pain here to compose new mail using default (small) font.
Confirming & changing severity.

This appears under Windows too and I suspect it's on all OSes.
OS: Linux → All
Hardware: PC → All
Workaround: Enable mouse wheel + modifier key for text zoom ("make text larger
or smaller" Preference).

Use of mouse wheel to zoom works also in composer (at least with Mozilla 1.4 and
1.5a on Win98).
Christian, that works here on Linux build 2003080105 as well!

Since the feature actually exists, it seems strange that default zoom keys Ctrl
+ Grey+/Grey- don't work, and corresponding menu View->Text Zoom item is missed.

Interestingly, the same workaround works for bug 180659 and for Mozilla Composer.

This bug is over two years old.
Is there a target date for a resolution?
It would be nice to aid those with poor eyesight to be able to see emails in
compose and preview without having to compose in large fonts.

marco, do you know of any workaround? I didn't find an extension. seems like this might be trivial to fix

Ctrl+Mouse Wheel zoom is enabled by default for TB's composer since TB10 (Bug 250415).

We're currently doing keyboard access for composition zoom in bug 738194.
Ping back if anything is missing after the patch there.
