Steps to reproduce:

I use Thunderbird 91.1 on Arch Linux running Gnome 42.2

  1. open Thunderbird
  2. wait for a new email notification
  3. click on the link from the new email notification

Actual results:

The web browser loads a unexpected/invalid page because the link clicked in the step 3 is incomplete.

The attached screenshot shows a notification that contains
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455 url, but the complete url is
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455654

Expected results:

The new email notification should contain the full url.

Thanks. Can you pls attach here

  • a screenshot of the affected msg in msg reader
  • the affected message saved as .eml (after removing private data from msg source)

Strangiato, are you still seeing this problem after updating to TB 102?

Strangiato, are you still seeing this problem after updating to TB 102?

TB 102 is not available in Arch Linux repositories yet.

Thanks Strangiato!

From reporter's information, this looks confirmed for Thunderbird 91.1 on Arch Linux running Gnome 42.2.
Could be the Linux distro where it's broken, so needs retesting with the official Linux install from thunderbird.net.
We wouldn't fix this for 91 because 102 has already been released, so needs retesting there.

Message format:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

The plain text URL in the source looks alright:

Now I'm using Thunderbird 102.2.0. As seen in the screenshot attached to this comment, its notitication does not have a link.

Is this still seen in version 128?

Currently I'm using thunderbird 137.0-1; the bug persists.
