Remember the "Netscape Now"? Well, I think Mozilla needs one too. This logo will be used to link to www.mozilla.org site. Maybe and entry point is needed in www.mozilla.org site to welcome the user that clicked in the "Mozilla Now" logo.
The icon should be available for webmasters that makes their sites Mozilla compliant and want to give their users a quick link to Mozilla.org download page. Just like the "Netscape Now" logo campain
Well, one problem is getting past the Mozilla dogmatic and doctrinary stance that Mozilla is not an end-user product... although any weblog in the world will prove that Mozilla is by far the most popular Gecko browser (Netscape is crippled and even more bloated, newer derivatives are too buggy or have less features), the official word is still that Mozilla is essentially a developer product. This might even be contractually so, since Netscape really wouldn't want Mozilla to be the real thing. So really such a button should instead say "Gecko now!" and point to a a page (at mozilla.org for instance, possibly with mirrors) listing a variety of Gecko browsers and a short but comprehensive list of resources describing why the Gecko experience is superior to that of proprietary engines. The actual buttons (oldstyle GIF, with and without animation; PNG; MNG) are piece of cake making, provided you have a big vectorized Gecko lizard to toy with. Lots of people could do this, so Mozilla.org could either pick a few assignees or have a stupid contest (first prize: the honor and glory) to get some worthy buttons with good xplatform design (the Netscape buttons are not that classy). Providers of other Gecko-based products could of course have their own buttons in addition to this, but that is outside Mozilla's scope.
