Steps to reproduce:

Problem started in TB100:
Some attachments cannot be open from within the incoming message window [Mac].
Double-clicking the attachment at the bottom of the message window doesn't do anything.

It doesn't affect all attachments. For example, I just received a message with both .zip and .mp4 files.

Double-clicking the .zip attachment does work.
Double-clicking the .mp4 attachment doesn't do anything.
(Dragging the .mp4 attachment onto QuickTime Player icon in the Dock results in the "The file can’t be found." message from the Finder.)

Such attachment has to be first saved to disk, then opened.

Actual results:

Double-clicking some attachments in the incoming message window doesn't do anything.

Expected results:

Attachments should be open on double-click.

I'm still on TB 104 due to Bug 1803943.

I'll check the latest version again soon, if that bug is fixed I'll be able to check other bugs.

In general regarding 102 + attachments ... Version 115 (or newer betas, take your pick) has at least one major patch in this area, and Version 102 is close to end of life. So if this is a bug it likely won't be patched in version 102. Version 115 should be offered as an update within three weeks - report your results then. Thanks.

I just tried 116 and while Bug 1803943 was fixed, I still had to revert back to 104 due to XNote issues described in Bug 1776106.

So I'll check the state of this .mp4 attachment bug again when XNote can be used in Thunderbird 116+ again.
