(In reply to Cosmin Sabou [:CosminS] from comment #23)

Could these be related to changes in https://hg.mozilla.org/integration/autoland/rev/ca3982ed467a4817c61bd8b5dc509a903a636c8e ?

Seems rather unlikely. Do backfills point to it? Off-hand it doesn't seem to, right? Seems to point to bug 1797370 which could cause some timing differences if I understand correctly... Or bug 1802103, which changes marionette and thus mochitests?

Unfortunately backfills are leading nowhere, must be something off-tree that changed and caused them to fail, even the latest backfills do. Filed Bug 1802547.

Emilio, is there something that can be done for this test or should we go ahead and skip it on xorigin?

Flags: needinfo?(emilio)

If this only fails on xorigin, given it's the first hover test, that makes me think that there might be something going on with how we target mouse events for fission. this call is not setting the hover state afaict.

I have a theory which is that the APZ state is still not set up in the content process when this happens. We have a way of waiting for that, so let's try to see if it works. Patch above, try run here.
