The About box displays the user-agent string in a multiline textbox, which has a
vertical scrollbar. The scrollbar is completely useless.

Just a quick note: The scrollbar does not appear when using the Phusion theme,
but it appears with the Classic theme, so this is a bug with the Classic theme.

Yes. As noted before, some themes have this problem, some does not.

Was that a joke? Classic is the default theme in Phoenix. It's not Mozilla
Classic, it's Phoenix Classic.

a patch has been posted to bug 196307, which tries to fix bug 177833 and bug 186751.

testing is needed for that patch.

has three lines, forcing the display of the scrollbar)

Please attach a screenshot of the problem. Feel free to reopen and set the OS to
Linux instead. This seems to be fixed in WinXP Luna.

i will attach screenshot later, in the mean while, how about enlarging the font
in WinXP? I think the problem is there because of big font which force the
scrollbar to appear.

I wonder if this may be a more general bug in the scroll bar showing logic. 
This looks similar to the bugzilla query page when I look at it.  The Status,
Resolution, and Severity fields all have items that are visible in the field,
yet scroll bars are still visible that do nothing.
