Note
- When the user activates subtitles, they get displayed, then the user hovers the PiP so the buttons get displayed and then un-hovers it, he will notice that the buttons don't get hidden fast enough so the subtitles overlap them.
** Found in**
- Beta v103.0b7
Affected versions
- Nightly v104.0a1 - wayland by default - unaffected
- Beta v103.0b1-v103.0b5 - wayland by default - unaffected
- Beta v103.0b6-v103.0b7 - xwayland by default - AFFECTED
- Release v102.0.1 - xwayldn by default - AFFECETD
Affected platforms
- only occurs on Ubuntu 21/22 + xwayland window protocol
- does not occur on Ubuntu 20 + x11 window protocol
Steps to reproduce
- Load a Youtube video with substitles.
- Launch PiP.
- Hover the PiP so the buttons appear, then un-hover it.
Expected result
- The buttons disappear immediately, and the subtitles do not overlap the buttons when they move back down.
Actual result
- The buttons remain displayed on the PiP and the subtitles move down and overlap the buttons.
Regression range
- Not a regression, this feature was tested using mostly Wayland window protocol, while the latest Beta opens with xwayland, as does the release.
Additional notes
- The preliminary testing session had been done with Beta v103.0b2-v103.0.b5 which opened by default with "Wayland" Window Protocol, while the later versions v103.0b6-v103.0b7 opened by default with "xwayland" Window Protocol.
