In Edit> Preferences> Advanced> System> Windows should use Mozilla... the news:
protocol is missing. There is no way of making Mozilla the default newsreader.

Another way of solving the problem would be to add Mozilla to the list in Start>
Settings> Control Panel> Internet properties> Programs> Internet programs>
Newsgroups (Mozilla isn't in the list).
