Steps to reproduce:
I updated Thunderbird last week and today. Problem still there.
It is now Version 102.0.3, first offered to channel users on July 20, 2022
Actual results:
Since the update the french letters are changed to characters. The encoding is greyed out and cannot be changed to Western. In the advanced options, the encoding is not there anymore.
Expected results:
Not change to characters other than the real letters
For example: à vérifier si vous êtes dans la trajectoire de départ ou dâarrivée de certains vols et si lâavion en question a bien respecté les règles dâatténuations du bruit présentement en vigueur à lâaéroport Montréal Saint-Hubert.

Thanks Isabelle. We need more information to make your report actionable.
- Problem of message reader?
- Existing message which was readable with TB before? Or new incoming message?
- All messages affected?
- Which TB version still readable, which is first broken version?
- POP or IMAP?
- Also happens with
≡ > Help > Troubleshoot Mode…? - Can you provide test message after replacing private data with text editor?
Attach New Filebutton above comment 0

Also happens with ≡ > Help > Troubleshoot Mode…? I don't know. What am I suppose to do to know?
Can you provide test message after replacing private data with text editor? Attach New File button above comment 0 (where do I go to do this?)

Well, try it and see if the problem is till reproducible in that mode.
Attach New File button above comment 0 (where do I go to do this?)
That button is here on bugzilla, above. In thunderbird, do File | Save As... File (Ctrl+S) to get the file to attach
The problem seems to be only when I edit the subject. So I opened an issue with the addon company EditEmailSubject MX.
Everything was working fine before.

Update: I finally had access to the option tab and clicked on "local" in the settings. Everything seems to work fine now.
Thanks
