User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020721
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020721
I have Bookmarks created the only time bookmark manager worked; I created a
folder in Explorer to save them - C:\Program Files\bookmarks.htm Although my
full list appears in this folder, even though I have Cut and Copied, Cut and
Pasted and Dragged it into C:\WINDOWS:Applicaton Data\Mozilla\etc. and found
Bookmarks, it will not appear on browser toolbar under Bookmarks. When I use
Bookmarks on browser, I can bookmark URL currently in use, but not create a
folder for it or a separator, nor can I tediously type in my list, since Import
function is also frozen.....
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Browser and, perhaps, save current URL, at bottom of list, of course.
2.Click on Bookmarks - Manage Bookmarks
3.Try any function - File, Edit, View, Open, Create Folder, Separator - all
frozen and useless.
4. Try to Import list from Explorer; frozen.
Actual Results:
Nothing. I can only bookmark the URL currently displayed, at bottom of my list.
I cannot create a new folder, separator, rename an URL to the name of my
liking, I cannot import my list from Explorer, which is complete as of a few
days ago. This was the only time Bookmark Manager has worked and I tediously
entered every bookmark by hand, with folder and separator of my choice. Entered
Bookmarks open if I can get them on the list, but if I make an error, I cannot
correct it. Right-click, rename is frozen too.
Expected Results:
Bookmark Manager should work as it used to in my previous edition of Netscape.
It should allow me to edit my bookmarks, correct errors, enter new folders etc.,
and import my folder, bookmarks.htm, from Explorer.
The bug occurs all the time; I am frustrated. I do not know a lot about how
computers work, and my limited knowledge probably makes me an unsuitable user of
Mozilla. For instance, I do not know about "stack trace" or "HTML testcase" so
I cannot tell you what you probably need to know. I contacted wtc@netscape
several weeks ago and have had no reply. When one uses Mozilla, is there no
technical support for a computer illiterate like me? I have intermediate
knowledge, which should be enough for me to use this OS

Hilary,
The version of Mozilla you are using is quite old. If possible, could you try
to install a newer version, like 1.2b (http://www.mozilla.org/)?
If it still occurs, please add a comment to this bug report.
Hope that helps

Import Export etc. works for me with win2k build 20021101..
I must mark this bug invalid because we have no end-user support, your build is
already too old ...
>I am frustrated.
I can understand that and I sent a private mail to help you.
(I forgot to ask in that mail how many bookmarks do you currently have)
