RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1070492

People

(Reporter: fouuqibwtn, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:103.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/103.0

Steps to reproduce:

In Composer, I switch to the "<HTML> Source" view of the page. I then type ctrl-F or select Edit > Find.

Actual results:

No search bar appears.

Expected results:

A search bar should appear, as in the other views ("Normal", "HTML Tags", and "Preview").

The version of Seamonkey in this bug is the version I'm currently using, but Seamonkey has had this problem for a long time. I believe, at one point, search was supported in the HTML Source view.

I suppose this might be regarded as an enhancement request: I've marked it as a defect because there's no general workaround. If I want to search for something in the document that's, e.g., an attribute value, or even text that I want to find so I can modify the source around it, I can't search for the markup or text. I have to scroll through the document looking for whatever, which can be infeasible in a large document.

DUP of Bug 1070492 - Ctrl+F or 'Edit → Find' do not start 'Search' in HTML Source View"
