Most of my downloads come through as type "Toast". Since I don't use Toast, this is a minor annoyance.

This is a 'feature' of Mac OS X due to its reliance on file extensions to map files to applications. Assuming one is using 10.2 or later you 'help' the OS realize that .bin files should be opened by StuffIt Expander rather than Toast by doing the following: 1) Select a .bin file in the Finder 2) Use the Get Info command to display the File Info dialog 3) Click the disclosure triangle next to 'Open with:' in the dialog to display the options for opening the file 4) Select StuffIt Expander from the popup list 5) Click the Change All... button to map all files with the .bin extension to StuffIt Expander
