User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.13

Steps to reproduce:

The Firefox I'm using comes with the latest Debian distro and is version 91ESR. It's meant to provide good service for several years. I started Firefox with a new clean profile so the offer to import data would appear, and selected it.

Actual results:

Firefox offered to import data from Chrome, which I do not have on my system, not even datafiles. And it apparently didn't look for or detect Seamonkey, which has my profile in a subfolder under the main .mozilla folder as the Firefox profile folder.

Expected results:

Firefox should have identified the presence of at least one Seamonkey profile (there are actually 2 or 3 that I kept for backup) and asked which Seamonkey profile to import data from. On selecting the profile, Firefox then should have imported the data. I would guess that in the past, Firefox had the code to import from Seamonkey, and then it was ill-advisedly removed.

Bugzilla is incorrectly reporting the version of Firefox I'm having the problem with. it's version 91ESR, the version in the most recent Debian Linux distro. And I'm running the most recent Seamonkey too, which for some odd reason seems to be using older Gecko code.

I would guess that in the past, Firefox had the code to import from Seamonkey, and then it was ill-advisedly removed.

This code has never existed at any point. There was an importer for netscape removed in bug 679016 (a decade ago!) which was internally called seamonkey, but as the comments on that bug note, it never supported more modern seamonkey.

This is effectively a new feature request and as such would need product triage.
