User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:103.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/103.0
Steps to reproduce:
If you open a PDF document with images and you print it (print or just use "save as PDF" from printing dialog (!!!)) then the images are scaled up.
I have created an example document with Microsoft Word 2019 on Windows 10. It is just an empty word document with only an image in the header. I have exported this document as PDF an copied it to macOS (12.5.1).
Steps:
- Open the PDF document "original.pdf" with Firefox 103.0.2 (64bit) on macOS (12.5.1)
- Open the printing dialog for this document
- Use "Save as PDF" inside the printing dialog (or just print it)
- Open the "Save as PDF" document with default macOS preview app
You will see the image scaled up and it is unreadable.
I have attached several documents:
- Word-Document "original.docx" created on Windows 10
- The exported word document "original.pdf"
- "Save as PDF" resulting document => "PDF_macOS.pdf"
- Screenshot showing the issue
- Screenshot showing the expected result
But you can also reproduce this issue with other documents. For example you can try it with a Cisco product sheet: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/firepower-2100-series/datasheet-c78-742473.pdf
If you print this cisco document (or "Save as PDF" from printing dialog) you will see that some images scale up (like cisco secure on first page, or on page 3 the model images).
Actual results:
Image is scaled up. I have attached an screenshot "screenshot_issue.png". I have also attached the "Print as PDF" resulting document "PDF_macOS.pdf".
If you copy the "PDf_macOS.pdf" back to windows, the scaled image doesn't appear. It looks like as expected. The issue only happens on macOS.
Expected results:
Image shoud look like in the attached original document "original.pdf". I have attached a screenshot "screenshot_expected.png" showing the expected result.
