Steps to reproduce:

Upgraded Thunderbird to 105b1

Actual results:

Thunderbird opened a browser and displayed Beta Notes.

Expected results:

Browser never should have been opened, much less display Beta Notes.

That seems expected. For release channel users we open up the What's new page in a browser. For beta, the release notes are what's new.

I'd like an option to prevent this from happening. I find it intrusive and annoying.

Opening up the what's new is a major source of getting people involved, and for donating.

It's getting me to the point of removing Thunderbird.

If you're okay with that, reply "YES".

If you would like to see me disgruntled with Thunderbird for the time being, reply "NO".

Intrusive and annoying. What would you do?
