  2. Enable session restore
  3. open a few tabs
  4. activate one of the tabs(tab A) other than FxV or the last one in the tablist
  5. restart Fx

Which OS are you experiencing this on? I just tried to reproduce on MacOS and couldn't.

Reproduced the issue with Firefox 106.0a1 (2022-08-30) using the steps from the description, on Windows 10x64 and macOS 12. Note that I could only reproduce it , after I activate the Firefox view from the pinned icon.
The issue is verified fixed with Firefox 106.0 (20221010110315) on Windows 10x64, macOS 12, and Ubuntu 20.04. Firefox restores the session with the expected active tab displayed.
