I can't seem to startup the browser this morning. It always crashes with the stack trace below. nsUnescapeCount(char * 0x00000000) line 145 + 3 bytes nsUnescape(char * 0x00000000) line 134 + 9 bytes nsMsgFolder::Init(nsMsgFolder * const 0x02daf5d0, const char * 0x02dadc20) line 158 + 16 bytes RDFServiceImpl::GetResource(RDFServiceImpl * const 0x02394d00, const char * 0x02dadc20, nsIRDFResource * * 0x0012d3d0) line 662 + 16 bytes BookmarkParser::AddBookmark(nsCOMPtr<nsIRDFContainer> & {...}, const char * 0x02dadc20, const unsigned short * 0x0012d784, int 806802548, int 806854358, int 806854358, const char * 0x02dad780, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950, nsIRDFResource * * 0x0012ddec) line 979 + 45 bytes BookmarkParser::ParseBookmark(const nsString & {...}, nsCOMPtr<nsIRDFContainer> & {...}, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950, nsIRDFResource * * 0x0012ddec) line 843 + 71 bytes BookmarkParser::Parse(nsIRDFResource * 0x02da9e20, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 543 + 59 bytes BookmarkParser::ParseBookmarkHeader(const nsString & {...}, nsCOMPtr<nsIRDFContainer> & {...}, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 1159 + 27 bytes BookmarkParser::Parse(nsIRDFResource * 0x02d90b80, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 554 + 29 bytes BookmarkParser::ParseBookmarkHeader(const nsString & {...}, nsCOMPtr<nsIRDFContainer> & {...}, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 1159 + 27 bytes BookmarkParser::Parse(nsIRDFResource * 0x02d8c030, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 554 + 29 bytes BookmarkParser::ParseBookmarkHeader(const nsString & {...}, nsCOMPtr<nsIRDFContainer> & {...}, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 1159 + 27 bytes BookmarkParser::Parse(nsIRDFResource * 0x02d88e70, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 554 + 29 bytes BookmarkParser::ParseBookmarkHeader(const nsString & {...}, nsCOMPtr<nsIRDFContainer> & {...}, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 1159 + 27 bytes BookmarkParser::Parse(nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49ba0, nsIRDFResource * 0x02d49950) line 554 + 29 bytes nsBookmarksService::ReadBookmarks(nsBookmarksService * const 0x02d49be0) line 3230 nsBookmarksService::Init() line 1466 + 12 bytes NS_NewBookmarksService(nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x0012f5c8) line 2234 + 8 bytes nsGenericFactory::CreateInstance(nsGenericFactory * const 0x02d49120, nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x0012f5c8) line 38 nsComponentManagerImpl::CreateInstance(nsComponentManagerImpl * const 0x010141d0, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x0012f5c8) line 1261 + 24 bytes nsComponentManager::CreateInstance(const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x0012f5c8) line 78 nsServiceManagerImpl::GetService(nsServiceManagerImpl * const 0x01014540, const nsID & {...}, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * * 0x0012f750, nsIShutdownListener * 0x00000000) line 248 + 19 bytes nsServiceManagerImpl::GetService(nsServiceManagerImpl * const 0x01014540, const char * 0x0012f7f0, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * * 0x0012f750, nsIShutdownListener * 0x00000000) line 394 nsServiceManager::GetService(const char * 0x0012f7f0, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * * 0x0012f750, nsIShutdownListener * 0x00000000) line 501 RDFServiceImpl::GetDataSource(RDFServiceImpl * const 0x02394d00, const char * 0x0012f9bc, nsIRDFDataSource * * 0x0012fa90) line 1104 + 50 bytes nsXULDocument::CheckTemplateBuilder(nsIContent * 0x02d45da0) line 4885 + 109 bytes nsXULDocument::ResumeWalk() line 4323 + 14 bytes nsXULDocument::OnUnicharStreamComplete(nsXULDocument * const 0x02700d54, nsIUnicharStreamLoader * 0x00000000, unsigned int 0, const unsigned short * 0x02e33d80) line 4622 + 11 bytes nsUnicharStreamLoader::OnStopRequest(nsUnicharStreamLoader * const 0x02d33074, nsIChannel * 0x02d35f40, nsISupports * 0x00000000, unsigned int 0, const unsigned short * 0x00000000) line 118 + 50 bytes nsChannelListener::OnStopRequest(nsChannelListener * const 0x02d33030, nsIChannel * 0x02d35f40, nsISupports * 0x00000000, unsigned int 0, const unsigned short * 0x00000000) line 1379 + 42 bytes nsFileChannel::OnStopRequest(nsFileChannel * const 0x02d35f44, nsIChannel * 0x02d342a0, nsISupports * 0x00000000, unsigned int 0, const unsigned short * 0x00000000) line 423 + 45 bytes nsOnStopRequestEvent::HandleEvent(nsOnStopRequestEvent * const 0x02d34830) line 322 nsStreamListenerEvent::HandlePLEvent(PLEvent * 0x02d34540) line 169 + 12 bytes PL_HandleEvent(PLEvent * 0x02d34540) line 537 + 10 bytes PL_ProcessPendingEvents(PLEventQueue * 0x02342b00) line 498 + 9 bytes _md_EventReceiverProc(HWND__ * 0x019e05e4, unsigned int 49497, unsigned int 0, long 36973312) line 972 + 9 bytes USER32! 77e71820() 02342b00()
Forgot to mention that I migrated an existing 4.x profile before the initial browser crash happened.
Judging by the stacktrace, it looks like you have a mailbox, NNTP, or IMAP URL in your bookmarks... can you look in your bookmarks as well for any of these? If you do, can you try removing that bookmark and starting again?
Yup, I had a news: URL in one of my bookmarks. I was able to startup after removing it from my bookmarks.html file.
I too had the same problem.
