I have seen this bug with both mozilla and phoenix.
It seems to be in all versions I tried...
When I use either on a 8bpp xterminal after a while the crash.
It looks like they run out of colors or palette room.
I can live with colors being wrong in those cases (e.g. a color that resembles
what should have been used) but the browser just dissapearing is really annoying.
Do you have a talkback ID?
Does this only happen in 8bpp?
If you start mozilla from console: do you see any error messages before the
crash? Could the crash be related to use of flash on the pages you crash?
(Which version of flash are you using?)

do you crash because you select images within Mozilla/Phoenix ? If so, that will
be fixed with bug 124556.
