User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:104.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/104.0
Steps to reproduce:
I have two accounts with one mail provider.
The mail providers SMTP server requires the same username for both accounts. (For every account in the world actually. wtf?) Only the password differs.
Actual results:
Thunderbird only stores one password and so fails to log in as the correct user.
Expected results:
Thunderbird should key the password store by identity to ensure passwords can be saved and matched for each identity.

Component: Untriaged → Networking: SMTP
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core
I am not alone it seems.
I just found this question at support.mozilla.org from March this year.
The solution suggested was to raise a bug report. I can't find one though so I doubt they bothered.
