Firefox Version: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/105.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Window Size (inner width and height): 1728x915
GitHub Username: @lime124
Steps to Reproduce
I haven't been noticing new tabs entering the recently closed area, but it was strange to see a new tab in the list.
Expected Behavior
"New Tab" (about:newtab) should be hidden from "Recently closed" since it isn't very useful, and just clutters the UI.
Actual Behavior
"New Tab" in my Recently closed.

Is this a duplicate of 1789007?

If you just open a new tab and close it immediately it does not show up in Firefox View.
We only show new tab if you closed a tab that had something in the URL bar or had other pages in history (e.g. if you clicked the back button on a tab that loaded something, thus loading the new tab page, and then closed the tab). This is consistent with the other recently closed tab surfaces in the browser and hasn't changed.

I've morphed that bug to only be about duplication.

Ray says we don't intend to address this as part of Firefox View, at least.
