Steps to reproduce:

Normal behavior of Thunderbird on Mac computers is that the Spell Check window does not float, and obscures the message being spell checked. This is in contrrast to Windows where (I'm reliably informed) it is possible to left click and move the Spell Check window.
Can this please be fixed ?

Yes, Same problem.
It's been around for a long long time, and is very annoying.
