User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:104.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/104.0

Steps to reproduce:

I suggest improving defaults for Top Sites tiles:

  • make them bigger by default
  • reducing tiles margins/paddings to make the actual contents (icon) bigger

Related discussion and particular comment: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1714455#c17

Actual results:

Currently, after installation the tiles are just extremely tiny and take up roughly 15-20% of the page leaving the rest a white, blank space. In older versions of the Firefox (around version 63) they were bigger by default. One workaround is to zoom-in the page, but... this is just a workaround and it doesn't address relatively big marings problem.

It was suggested that his is caused by the websites icons being small/low res and while some websites indeed have tiny favicons, majority of modern websites provide high-rest favicons so I don't think we should settle for "lowest common denominator" here.
