User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:104.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/104.0
Steps to reproduce:
-
Find an existing task that contains an attachment (URL).
-
Click on the task.
-
Check the attachments section at the bottom of the window.
-
Mark the attachment complete or partially complete.
Actual results:
After step 3, the attachment is not shown - see screenshot.
After step 4, the attachment is shown - see screenshot in first comment.
Expected results:
The attachment should always show.
Note that this problem only exists with an existing task. When I create new task, the attachment shows correctly. Note that I have only been able to test this with repeating tasks, as they are the only ones where I generally have attachments.
I'm seeing this in v102.2.2 and v105 beta 4.
Screenshot showing attachment is visible when the task is partially completed.

Works for me on daily. (Created the tasks myself.)
As discussed in https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/beta/T03c2d8d0d870f1c7-M9f0c13bc9670501a3646619f/thunderbird-128-0b1-build-1, which is why I guess this bug is getting some attention, I already have.
This has been a consistent problem since I reported it, in both release and beta versions. And as I reported above, these have separate profiles, so it is not a profile issue.
I since it appears you're not having problems, how extensive is your testing? I just checked, and my calendar-data\local.sqlite is nearly 50 MB, so are you testing with a calendar file that is that big?
I just checked, and my calendar-data\local.sqlite for my beta profile and it is over 30 MB. So not quite as big as for my normal profile, but still quite large.

Assuming this is a regression (for example broken between v91 and v102), please find the regression range using https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/

meichthys,
Is this something you can test using 128 or newer?
Hi Wayne, I can only test this for new tasks as I can't seem to find any old tasks that already had an attachment (as the OP indicated).
This is not an issue with new tasks in 128.10.0esr.
It's possible it may have been an issue with the way caldav taskses were crated - perhaps off of Thunderbird. For example, when entering a url in a Nextcloud task, then syncing it to Thunderbird, the URL shows up as a "Related Link" in Thunderbird rather than an "Attachment". I don't know how other caldav servers may handle this.
Again, I did not have any old tasks with url attachments to test, so I could only test new URL attachments which work fine.
