Details

Firefox for Android

Steps to reproduce:

Detailed below

Actual results:

I've been using Firefox on 2 Windows 10 machines (a Dell desktop and an HP envy m6 laptop) for YEARS and I always upgrade FF when 'About Firefox' prompts me that an upgrade exists. Lately, Gmail has gotten VERY picky and after logging into Gmail from a Windows device, it sends 2 verification codes to my phone to make sure it's me. This worked fine under version 104.0.2 but after upgrading my laptop to FF 105, and after logging into Gmail, it sent a verification code to my phone BUT MY PHONE NEVER GOT IT and after multiple tries, Gmail locked me out!!! Luckily, I didn't upgrade my desktop and it was still running 104.0.2 and Gmail still worked on it. The only difference was that I had upgraded the laptop to FF 105. I couldn't find an easy way to restore the laptop to FF 104.0.2 but I had recently done an image backup of the laptop so I restored it from the most recent backup. The failing laptop now runs FF 104.0.2 AND GMAIL IS WORKING AGAIN!!!!! PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS AND FIX FF 105 ELSE OTHER USERS WHO DO NOT HAVE A WAY TO REVERT BACK TO 104.0.2 MAY GET LOCKED OUT OF GMAIL FROM THEIR WINDOWS DEVICE!!!!

Expected results:

FF 105 should have allowed me to receive the 2 verification codes from Gmail on my phone (Pixel 4a 5G running Android 12)

FREDD47, to rule out the influence of some add-ons or setting customization, could you please check if this is reproducible with the latest Firefox 106.0.1 version on a new profile?
