User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/105.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Set the message pane to View, Sort by, Group by Sort so that it showed emails by Today, yesterday, last 7 days, last 14 days, old.
Actual results:
That works fine but structure keeps collapsing almost every time I go to a folder with different view and so have to reopen each group every time to I go to a new folder.
Not quite sure if problem is intermittent or whether I am doing sometihng slightly different when view does collapse.
Wayne Mery reported same problem.
Expected results:
Message pane should have displayed emails by group and kept displaying with the groups that I had expanded kept expanded. Not collapse all the groups each time I leave that folder.

Thanks. Yeah, this is happening and it's probably annoying for those using Group by Sort.
Confirming for 107.0a1 (2022-09-30) (64-bit), Win10, and 102.3.1 (64-bit).
STR
- On folder A, View > Sort By > Group by Sort (e.g. on Date)
- Click on twisty to open some grouped nodes to see the messages in there e.g. for Today
- Select folder B
- Select folder A
Actual result
- All nodes including those which you manually opened before are closed.
Expected result
- Dear Thunderbird, would you kindly remember which group nodes I had expanded, just like you also remember all the other view settings. Reopening them every time is pretty inconvenient and frustrating.

Seems to be a dupe of bug 1281117.
