Steps to reproduce:

I use a mail provider with aliases and changed the main adress. The adress was already used as an alias in thunderbird, but not as the main adress.

Actual results:

  1. When changing the main adress, CalDAV, IMAP and SMTP should change after updating the details in one window, as they are (to my knowledge) ALWAYS using the same adress. The aliasses for incoming mails are handled by the Mail server.

  2. The SMTP-Update dialog just asked for a password and not a new username, so that the window was useless. manually in the settings worked.

  3. The password manager doesnt seem to work, as I am always asked to reenter the CalDAV credentials (including mail), using the popup window works here, but it isnt stored.

Expected results:

The popup window should work for CalDAV, CardDAV, IMAP and SMTP, as they are linked. Maybe an opt-out for "use the same on all" could be there for the rare exceptions.

Changing your mail adress shouldnt be a problem, and resetting everyone stored, because when saving a lot of mails offline and managing folders, you cant just delete the account and log in again.

A whole login-dialog should be able to be reinvoked.

The services are commonly from the same provider, but they are technically separate, and also a fair amount of people have them set up independently. When you switch email address it's easiest to unsubscribe from the old and go through the setup again.
