I had an e-mail thread where "?" occured in the subject.

Steps to reproduce:

  • mark all messages
  • select "forward as attachments" from context menu
  • enter subject and recipient in the compose window
  • press "Send"

=> Sending fails with the message: "Senden der Nachricht fehlgeschlagen.
Es gab einen Fehler beim Anhängen von Re: [...] .eml. Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob Sie ausreichende Zugriffsrechte auf die Datei besitzen."

"Sending the messafe failed. There was an error attaching "Re: [...] .eml. Please check if you have the necessary access permissions for the file."

My guess: Somehow temporary files are created, and TB or Windows can't deal with the ? in the file name.

Yes, it is the question mark. I tried with artificially created messages with "???" as the subject (sent one to myself, then replied, and then tried to forward both as attachments). Same problem.
