Click on a message and shift-click on another to select a range. 2. Ctrl-click on something in the range to deselect it. 3. Press 'M' to mark as read (this should work) 4. Regret what you've done. 5. Press 'M' again to mark them as unread -- nothing happens Actual Results: Messages previously marked as read and still selected remained marked as read Expected Results: They should have toggled back to unread

Same behavior with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021017
Sean Redmond, can you still reproduce this bug with a current build? If you select one message, then shift-click to select a range, isn't the first message already marked unread from having been selected? (Unless you have turned off the message-body pane.) I've seen slightly inconsistent results when the selection contains mixed read and unread messages: usually it sets everything to read, but I have seen it reset an read message to unread -- and that is what happened when I tried to follow your procedure (on a group of messages that were all unread to start).
It now works as expected using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507. I'll test in on Windows as soon as I get a chance. I usually do have the message-body pane turned off, so it doesn't mark the first message read. But it works more or less as expected with the message-body pane on. Starting with unread messages, the first message is marked read after step 1; when you press 'M' to mark the whole group as read, the read message gets changed to unread, but I guess it's hard to decide what to do for a mixed range. Press 'M' again and they are all marked read.
Sean, have you had a chance to check this on Windows yet?
