I see this in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021103 and all earlier versions I tested. Steps to reproduce: 1. open a document with an image without ALT-text 2. doubleclick on image to open properties-window 3. mouseclick into text-pane "Alternate text" 4. insert some text 5. try to marek text with mouse-clicks expected: txt (or word of text) should be marked actual: it is not possible to mark text 6. <OK> 7. reopen properties-window 8. no you can mark text
correcition: 8. _now_ you can ....

This is just plain bizarre! Is there any other dialog that has this problem? I see the problem in Netscape 7 when I insert a new image (MacOSX).

Summary: Text in pane "Alternate text" in window "image properties" can not be marked with mousepointer → Text in pane "Alternate text" in window "image properties" cannot be marked with mousepointer
This sounds familiar -- There was a bug that you couldn't move caret with arrow keys that was fixed. This one is about not being able to select with either arrow keys (e.g., shift+arrow) or the mouse. Probably related to the fact that the textfield is *inside* of a <radiogroup> block and some messages are blocked.
sounds like this bug depends on bug 68853 (which has to do with paste from context menu not working in radiogroup and related stuff)
Depends on: 68853

Is there any way to set that darn alternate text to default to Don't use Alternate Text? I must have moused down and clicked that a million times.
